Coffee table project

Soooo here's my new project--it's a coffee table we've had for over 25 years.  My son, when he was very small, use to crawl thru it and use it as a play toy/jungle gym!!  And at one time it held many Thomas the Tank Engines, dinosaurs, and then on to Power Rangers and Batmen/Super heros, as well as many story books.  Now it is time for it to have a new look.
It's one of those crate furniture coffee tables.  So I just sanded and primed the top of the table--because for now, thats the part I am going to paint.

I painted some black around the top outside edge of the table.  I then, in the middle, painted in some light green and blue in a "flip flap" wet on wet  technique  -- highly technical terms of course :)

For the next step,  I stamped some leaves using 3 different colors--dark green, the blue and light green I used in the background.  So far that's as far as I have gotten--still working on the design that will do on top of the leaf pattern.....

I'll keep you posted as I go....so for now--it's back to the painting table!
Have a creative kinda day!

  1. Wow, you really transformed it! What a great project, even if you stopped her! (And I am a fan of technical terms like the very fancy one you used.) Thank you for visiting my blog too!

  2. (oops, should say "stopped here" - "stopped her" doesn't make any sense!)
