OK, I admit, this is not a new project, and I don't believe I have shown you this project. But I did want to share with you the table and chairs I have in my kitchen, in fact, they were painted in 2006!
It's a cute story behind me painting these. I wanted, some years ago, to get a new table and chair set for the kitchen. I thought if I sold the one I had, I could just go and buy a new kitchen set. So I decided I would have a garage sale. A friend came by and asked me why I was selling the table and chairs-I told her I wanted a new set. She said, "Well, if they don't sell-you can always paint what you have". (Now why I didn't think of that??? I have no idea! Definitely a "Duh!" moment for me!)
So, obviously, it didn't sell and this is what is still in my kitchen--

The table top was sanded and then primed and then painted. I used a chili pepper stamp on part of it. Once I had stamped the design on-I floated some extra colour into the chili peppers-I didn't want all the chili peppers to look the same. And then I free handed the rest of it. Did a little spattering of colours on the background-let it dry really good and then I put a good sealer on it.
It has held up very well!
When people come into my kitchen they are always surprised to hear me say I painted it---LOL and for some reason they always touch it!! I am very pleased with it-what do you think??
Happy Father's Day to all the dad's out there!!
Enjoy the special weekend!
